The former minister and federal deputy (MDB-RS) posted this Thursday (9) a video of the minister (Finance) with false information about new taxes that were being planned by the government, such as a “pet dog tax”.
In a tweet, Terra, who held the Citizenship portfolio in Jair Bolsonaro’s government, writes: “Is this true? Or is it fake made with artificial intelligence? What Haddad is saying is so absurd that I prefer to believe it is fake….”
In the deepfake, made with artificial intelligence, an image of the minister says that the government’s plan is to tax everything.
“This year we will have a tax on the pet dog. If he is part of the family, we have to collect on him too. It’s fair. Prenatal tax. If you get pregnant, you already have to start paying tax to the hospital. Tax on bets. If you lost , the loss is yours, if you win, the profit is ours. But it’s all for the good of the Brazilian, our people like a new tax too, you know, everyone knows. Tax and Big Brother are our passion”, he says.
Asked if he had any comments about having shared the deepfake, the deputy replied: “Insert the text I posted, casting doubt on the video.”
When contacted, the Treasury did not respond.
