The senator (PL-RJ) asked that the minister of the (Supreme Federal Court) be declared a suspect in an action related to the former banker. The pre-candidate anticipated a request from the deputy (-RJ), who asked for an investigation into the “Dark Horse” case.
The request from Flávio’s defense was sent to the president of the STF, Edson Fachin, and points to a possible relationship between Moraes and Vorcaro, citing the contract between the minister’s wife, Viviane Barci de Moraes, with the bank. According to data from the Revenue, the lawyer’s office received R$80.2 million in two years.
“The fact that the wife of the excellent minister Alexandre de Moraes is a lawyer for Banco Master seems to deprive his excellency of the necessary impartiality to process and judge the request formulated by federal deputy Lindbergh Farias, (…) which precisely involves Banco Master and its former controller”, argues the defense of the pre-candidate for the Presidency.
The PT member asked the STF to investigate the activities of former deputy Eduardo Bolsonaro (PL-SP) in the United States, linking the application of sanctions to Brazilian authorities to a “parallel financial mechanism”. Lindbergh pointed out that the money sent by Daniel Vorcaro, at Flávio’s request, under the justification of financing the film about Jair Bolsonaro, may have actually financed the campaign for amnesty for the former president.
Flávio’s defense says that Lindbergh’s argument is “composed of countless conclusions that are disconnected from reality and lack logical rigor.” Furthermore, the lawyers maintain that this is an “attempted manipulation of jurisdiction”, as they deny any relationship between the financing of the film and the investigation into Eduardo Bolsonaro’s activities in the USA.
The website Intercept Brasil revealed that the former banker arrived to produce “Dark Horse” (which means “underdog”), which deals with the life of former president Jair Bolsonaro. Messages show that Vorcaro was charged by Flávio, through messages, to make the payment.
Moraes asked for a statement from the PGR (Attorney General’s Office) on the case. On another front, Lindbergh also contacted the PF (Federal Police) requesting the investigation.
In addition to Moraes’ suspicion, Flávio’s defense asks that the deputy’s representation be separated from the investigation investigating Eduardo. The senator suggests distributing the request to Minister André Mendonça, current rapporteur of the Master case at the STF, and also asks for the sharing of evidence from the bank’s investigation.
Flávio’s law firm stated, in the piece itself, that it does not make “any value judgment” about the relationship between Master and Vorcaro with Alexandre de Moraes. The defense also recalls that the PGR has already examined the relationship “and concluded that it was absolutely lawful”.
In the request for suspicion, the defense says that it “simply seeks to ensure compliance with the procedural and regulatory rules applicable to the matter, as well as respect for the principle of impartiality. Nothing more.”
