In connection with the cyber attack on the systems of the Office of Geodesy, Cartography and Cadastre (ÚGKK) of the Slovak Republic, the opposition requests the convening of a meeting of the Committee of the National Council (NR) of the Slovak Republic for Defense and Security. TASR was informed about this on Thursday by the spokesperson of the Slovakia movement, Matúš Bystriansky.
“It is outrageous how the Ministry of the Interior initially lied about the reasons for this paralysis, when it claimed that the reason was necessary adjustments to the information systems of the ÚGKK SR,” said NR SR deputy Gábor Grendel (Slovakia, For the People, KÚ). He added that the deputies would like to ask the Minister of the Interior Matúš Šutaj Eštok (Hlas-SD) and the chairman of the ÚGKK SR Juraj Celler at the meeting what exactly happened.
The Ministry of the Interior of the Slovak Republic and the ÚGKK of the Slovak Republic confirmed on Wednesday (January 8) that the office’s information system, which is used by the cadastral departments of the district offices, was hit by a large-scale cyber attack from abroad. The offices of the cadastral departments are therefore temporarily closed as a precaution. The Chairman of the ÚGKK SR Juraj Celler declared at a press conference on Thursday that there are no interventions in the cadastre database, neither owners nor ownership relationships change.
