In a video published on social media, Democratic Party congressmen said they were fighting the environmental and economic policies proposed by the Republicans
Congressmen from the Democratic Party of the United States published a video in which they stated that they will “to fight” against a series of measures proposed by the president-elect’s team (Republican Party). In the post, published on Democrats’ social networks this Friday (10 January 2025), members criticize Republican resolutions such as increases in health plan prices, the relaxation of environmental policies, tax cuts for the rich and the end benefits for military veterans.
“We are here for who we represent. Democratic senators were elected to fight for American workers, for American families, for you. We want to make housing cheaper, to help workers earn more from their wages. To lower prices for child care, prescription medicine, and food”, say the congressmen, in the video.

Congressmen say they are willing to cooperate with any politician who seeks the good of the population, regardless of party. They also guarantee to block proposals from Trump’s allies.
“If Donald Trump and Republican senators do things to hurt you, we will fight. If they try to pursue affordable health plans, if they support policies that raise prices, if they ignore the threat of climate change, if they try to end benefits for military veterans, if they attack our freedom, if they try to enrich their friends, if they approve tax cuts for the rich, taking away their money, they will have to go through us first”, they state, in the video.
The video was by former Democratic President Barack Obama. The incident occurred one day after the funeral of former American president Jimmy Carter, on Thursday, in Washington DC, where Obama and Trump sat side by side. The event was attended by all living former US presidents, in addition to the current president, Joe Biden (Democratic Party).
The Democratic and Republican conversation intrigued US media outlets, which hired lip reading experts to decipher the content of the conversation between the two.
