Forest fires have been raging around Los Angeles for several days. They are accompanied by a strong wind, which worsens the situation and spreads the fire further. Authorities in the area ordered a mandatory evacuation affecting more than 80,000 people.
World celebrities such as Jennifer Aniston, Ben Affleck and Paris Hilton live in California. Slovak actress Liv Bielovič is also spending the first days of 2025 there with her foreign partner and daughter. She also spent the Christmas holidays in the USA and could not praise the local atmosphere enough. Christmas near the beach had a completely different charm.
However, the fiery hell also marked them. The star of the series Love in Istanbul and Second Chance published a terrifying video in which she showed what preceded the spread of the flames. You can hear the mighty wind in it and the loud clatter of things hitting the obstacles outside.
“Our house is shaking, things are flying in the air outside, we are currently without electricity. I have never experienced a hurricane like this in my life. We are fine so far, but the night was terrible. I am happy that we survived it.” Liv wrote on Instagram on Wednesday. You can find the VIDEO at the beginning of the article. Later on the photo she added that they are all safe. You can find a post about it in the gallery.
Until recently, she was enjoying the beauty of California. “I’ve just spent an unforgettable few days in Palm Springs, a city that feels like you’ve stepped into an old Hollywood movie set. This desert oasis is famously home to icons like Marilyn Monroe, Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Elizabeth Taylor and Elvis Presley, still carries their spirit. No wonder it’s home to the legendary Palm Springs Film Festival, this city oozes cinematic charm!” she wrote after visiting an extraordinary city. But then a fiery inferno descended on the area.
She started the fires in California a combination of drought and strong wind, reaching a speed of 120 kilometers per hour in gusts. The latter contributes to the spread of fire in city streets. Meteorological services have been predicting the risk of forest fires in California for several days.
This is a situation that is surprising in the middle of winter, and made worse by the seasonal Santa Ana winds. It is a hot and dry wind that usually appears in autumn and winter. Santa Ana wind power is exceptional this year: with maximums between 120 and 160 km/h, measured at a higher place, this year’s occurrence could be recorded as the strongest in more than ten years.
