City of São Paulo could be left without a mayor after two elections – 06/19/2026 – Panel

The city of Tuiuti (110 km from SP), with 7,000 inhabitants, will have its second election for mayor since October 2024, and even then will be at risk of remaining without a head of the municipal Executive.

After the (Superior Electoral Court) rejected the registration of Amarildo Lima (PSB), the most voted candidate in the 2024 election, his daughter Milena do Amarildo (PSB) will run in this Sunday’s supplementary election (21).

However, the TRE (Regional Electoral Court) judged, on Thursday (11), the registration of her vice president, Roberto Zamana (PSB), as unfounded, thus keeping the ticket sub judice.

Zamana registered after the deadline of 20 days before the election. According to judge Edson Lopes Filho, the deputy’s candidacy request was formally received on June 3rd, and the deadline had ended on the 1st.

In addition to Milena do Amarildo, there are candidates Careca (União) and Pedrinho (MDB) in the fight for mayor.

To the Panel, Milena stated that the ticket filed an appeal and demonstrated confidence. “We will win and take office, we will have a beautiful mandate”, wrote the candidate.

Milena’s father, Amarildo, had his name registered in the Clean Record Law after being convicted in the second instance in an action relating to the irregular division of land in Tuiuti.
