The minister of the (Supreme Federal Court) authorized, this Friday (19), the testimony of () on the case in his name. The decision defined next Tuesday (23) for the measure, to be carried out at the former president’s house.
The hearing was requested by the Federal District.
In the letter sent to Moraes this Thursday (18), those responsible for the investigation reported that there was an attempt to summon Bolsonaro personally at his home, where he is under house arrest, but the team in charge of the former president’s security did not allow it.
“The hearing, however, must be held in person, on June 23, 2026 (Tuesday), at 3 pm and at the address where the deponent is under humanitarian house arrest, as there is a legal restriction on the use of electronic communications,” said Moraes, in the order.
The 9 mm Glock pistol was used on Monday night (15) by a Bolsonaro security guard, approached during a DF blitz.
In explanations sent to Moraes, the defense reported that the former president requested the pistol be repaired after finding a fault.
After finding the pistol with military officer Estácio Leite da Silva Filho, Bolsonaro’s security guard, the minister. Estácio told the PM () that he was taking the gun for repair due to a breakdown, and that he intended to return it on Tuesday (16).
Moraes ordered the lawyers to clarify “why, on the eve of the end of the 90-day period granted as humanitarian house arrest, the convict requested repairs to the weapons.” According to an interlocutor of the minister, the explicit mention of the end of the deadline is a bad sign for Bolsonaro.
Furthermore, the magistrate suggests that court orders may be being disregarded, since search procedures are mandatory for cars leaving Bolsonaro’s house, and the president’s gun was spotted with a third party 33 kilometers away from the condominium.
The PM responded to Moraes that it scans the cabins and trunks of vehicles leaving Bolsonaro’s residence, but that the cars used by security guards are parked on public roads and do not enter the garage, “which is why they are not subject to inspections.”
Violation of precautionary measures is an argument frequently used by Moraes to revoke benefits, as occurred on the occasions when Bolsonaro or when the former president tried to break the electronic ankle bracelet with an ankle bracelet, last November.
Moraes’ distrust also increased due to the security guard’s posture during the approach during the blitz. Military police officer Davi Evangelista Alves states that the pistol was on the floor of the car and that, when he noticed it, “the driver suddenly closed the window.”
