The CDS-PP Algarve party announced its strategy for the 2025 municipal elections, highlighting the appointment of a district municipal coordination team. This step is described as decisive in the party’s commitment to consolidating its presence in the region and reinforcing its role as a local political force.
According to this Saturday’s statement, the CDS-PP appointed João Cabral as municipal district coordinator. For regional support functions, Telmo Martins, who assumes the position of deputy local coordinator for the Eastern Algarve, and João Gonçalves Caetano, responsible as deputy local coordinator for the Western Algarve, were appointed.
These nominations are part of a strategy outlined by the party to integrate “the best and most promising cadres into municipal and state bodies”, highlighting the importance of merit as the main criterion in the selection of leaders and candidacies.
Strengthening connection to communities
The coordination structure will aim to speed up and simplify the process of applying for local government, responding to the needs of Algarve communities. In the statement, CDS-PP Algarve highlights that the next elections represent “one of the biggest challenges for the party, but also a unique opportunity to reaffirm values and strengthen connections with local communities”.
Rodrigo Borges de Freitas, president of the CDS-PP Algarve District Political Committee, reinforced the importance of this moment for the region and for the party. According to him, “I fully trust that, together, with dedication and team spirit, we will demonstrate strength and resilience, showing the Algarve and the country the true value of the CDS-PP. Time is pressing, and the time is now.”
Strategy based on inclusion and merit
CDS-PP Algarve emphasized inclusion as an essential pillar of its strategy, with a transversal choice process that values skills, regardless of age, gender or training. The party believes that “politics needs ordinary people with the ambition to build a fairer, safer and more promising Algarve”, highlighting that diversity is a key element for future leadership.
Preparation for elections
The district municipal coordination says it will play a central role in preparing for the elections, ensuring strategic alignment between the party’s local and regional structures. Specific tools and guidance will be implemented to ensure an effective approach on the ground.
CDS-PP Algarve reaffirms its commitment to working towards a promising future for the region, standing out as a political force for change. “This is a starting point for the consolidation of the CDS-PP as a decisive force in the Algarve”, highlights the statement.
Outlook for 2025
With just a few months to go before the local elections, the CDS-PP Algarve says it presents a clear strategy and a team committed to streamlining the electoral process. The coordination team will have the mission of ensuring that the CDS-PP asserts itself as a reliable choice among voters, reinforcing its relevance in the regional political scenario.
