There were around R$1.2 billion to be paid over up to 10 years just for the emergency credit line

For the emergency credit line alone, there were around R$1.2 billion to be paid over up to 10 years, with a grace period of 3 years and a 30% rebate on the contracted amount – limited to R$25,000 in municipalities experiencing public calamity; and R$20,000 in municipalities in emergency situations.
According to the ministry’s balance sheet, R$1.9 billion was allocated for subsidies that benefited more than 80,000 borrowers, with more than 140,000 credit operations.
The 2024 floods 96% of , leaving 478 municipalities in calamity or emergency; affecting, in some way, around 2.3 million people.
