Central defender Tomás Ribeiro, who represented Vitória de Guimarães, will permanently reinforce Farense, signing a contract for two and a half seasons, the two clubs from the I Football League announced this Friday.
“The Algarve club began negotiations with Vitória Sport Clube, Futebol SAD and secured the signing of the 25-year-old central defender, who, in the meantime, has already left the ‘conquistadores’”, revealed the Minho emblem, on its official website.
Vitória de Guimarães also informed that “it will be entitled to receive the amount corresponding to 20%” of the proceeds from a future transfer.
On social media, Farense expressed confidence that Tomás Ribeiro “will be a huge addition to the group and an important piece” in achieving its goals.

The Algarve’s first winter reinforcement arrived in Minho at the beginning of last season, in which he played 35 games and three goals, but lost space in the ‘eleven’ this season – six games and one goal –, looking for more minutes with this change.
Tomás Ribeiro, with a formation shared by Alta de Lisboa, CAC Pontinha and Belenenses, began his senior career at BSAD, accumulating 72 games and one goal in three seasons.
The player was transferred to Grasshoppers, from Switzerland, in the middle of the 2021/22 season, where he spent a season and a half, recording 32 games and three goals, before moving to Vitória.
After 17 rounds, the Faro team, coached by Tozé Marreco, occupies 16th place, with 14 points, immediately above the direct relegation zone, where Nacional (13, one game less) and Boavista (12) are located.
