Bolsonaro leaders interpret that that of President Luiz Inácio da Silva (PT) in the Quaest survey released this Wednesday (13), although timid, is the first sign of the power of the public machine in favor of the PT member.
The assessment is that the announcement of measures such as the new Desenrola and the end of the 6×1 scale started to have an effect on the opinion of the electorate, but they believe that such actions will have limited influence, and that they tend to cool down until the campaign.
Bolsonarism bets that there is material fatigue with Lula and that, in the end, these measures will not show a recovery in purchasing power or an improvement in life.
The negative assessment of the Lula government varied from 42% in April to 39% in May, while the portion of voters who consider the PT’s work to be positive fluctuated from 31% to 34% in the period. The regular rate was 26% to 25%. The survey interviewed 2,004 voters between May 8th and 11th, comprising the beginning of the new debt renegotiation program.
Despite believing that the recovery has no momentum, there is concern among Bolsonarists that Lula will continue to gain ground with the announcement of new measures considered by them as “electoral”, such as the end of the so-called “blouse tax”. The government zeroed federal taxes on imports up to US$50.
The opposition has already defined that it will vote in favor of this MP (Provisional Measure) when it reaches Congress and will denounce that the taxation was imposed by the Planalto itself, in 2024.
The expected approval of the PEC (proposed amendment to the Constitution) that ends the 6×1 scale worries Bolsonaro supporters, who are studying strategies to reduce the positive impact on the government while at the same time wanting to maintain a discourse closer to the productive sector.
