Botafogo was defeated by Marica 2-1 in a game valid for the teams’ debut in the Carioca Championship. The game took place at Nilton Santos.

After the penalty, Botafogo grew in the match. However, the game was already in its final minutes and there was not much to be done. In this way, Marica came away with a 2-1 victory.
