TRUMP AND FIRES IN LA

Musk by the president-elect of the United States, Donald Trump (Republican Party), to head the Doge (Department of Government Efficiency) in his government.

The appointment is symbolic. According to a statement from Trump, the department of Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy, who left the race for the party nomination to support Trump, will serve to advise the Republican in making decisions related to changes in US government spending.

The president-elect blames California politicians for the fires. The state governor, Gavin Newsom, and the mayor of Los Angeles, Karen Bass, are from the Democratic Party, as is the current US president Joe Biden – who leaves office on January 20th.

The city and state are traditionally aligned with Democrats, which has sparked a war of narratives between the antagonistic parties over who is to blame for the causes and responsibility for the spread of the fire.
