Bahia and Vitória will not be able to face each other in the group stage of the competition, as per rule in the regulations

The draw for the group stage of the Copa do Nordeste is scheduled to take place this Tuesday (14), at 7pm, at the Grand Hyatt Hotel, in Rio de Janeiro. The date and rules of the draw were announced by the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) last Thursday. The event will distribute the 16 clubs into two groups in the first phase.
The first phase of the Copa do Nordeste will be played with two groups of eight teams. Unlike recent editions, each group faces each other within its own bracket, with the best four advancing to the quarterfinals. The Ba-Vi duo cannot be in the same group, as better ranked clubs within the same state are automatically in separate groups.
Bahia appears in pot one, along with Fortaleza, Ceará and Sport. Vitória shares the second pot with CRB, CSA and Sampaio Corrêa. The third Bahian team in the competition, Juazeirense is accompanied by América-RN, Moto Clube and Sousa-PB in pot four. The positioning of Bahian teams within each division follows the National Club Ranking.
