Kashmira revealed that Freddie has been replaying old videos of his performances in recent months. “When Freddie was watching his videos, he said, ‘Oh, I looked so good then.’ It was very, very painful … because he knew exactly what he was going through,” she recalls.
According to the nurse, Freddie was charismatic even during his illness. Kashmira visited him at his London home, Garden Lodge. “He hasn’t been alone for a moment in the past few days. He was lovingly cared for by his partner Jim Hutton, ex-girlfriend Mary Austin and personal assistant Peter Freestone,” she revealed.
Freddie’s parents were experiencing great grief. His mother visited him often and was with him until his last moments, well the father could hardly bear the sight of his son on his deathbedand therefore visited him less often. “Mom was with him as often as she could be. More often than father. I think he couldn’t handle it mentally because by the end Freddie looked like a skeleton,” Kashmira said.
Freddie’s last days were full of pain, but they also showed the love and support his loved ones were able to give him.
