At least 17 people were injured, some seriously, in an accident that occurred in the Astún ski resort, according to a provisional report from the Aragon authorities.
An accident with a cable car in the Astún ski resort, in Spain, caused at least 17 injuries, including nine very serious and eight serious, according to information being provided by local media.
The alert was given around noon local time (one hour less in Portugal), and several resources were sent to the location.
In addition to aerial resources from the Government of Aragon – two medical helicopters – and from the Autonomous Community of Navarra – a medical plane and another rescue helicopter -, several firefighters, including more than a dozen ambulances, and a group of psychologists were mobilized to the location.
Hospitals in the region are on alert for the arrival of the injured.
