The hospital is part of the Hospital de Amor network, a philanthropic institution nationally recognized for oncology care. The Lagarto unit was created to expand access to diagnoses, consultations, surgeries and specialized treatments in the Northeast region.

Certification as Unacon allows the hospital to provide comprehensive care for cancer patients, including diagnosis, treatment and clinical follow-up.

Program Now Has Experts

Lula’s visit takes place in the context of the Agora Tem Especialistas program, launched by the federal government to expand the offer of consultations, exams and specialized procedures in the SUS.

The initiative establishes actions aimed at reducing service queues and strengthening assistance in areas considered priority, such as oncology, cardiology, ophthalmology, orthopedics, gynecology and otorhinolaryngology.

According to the federal government, expanding cancer care capacity is one of the public health policy priorities for the coming years.
