Four deputies of the Hlas-SD party, dissatisfied with the current direction of the party, called on the chairman of the party, Matúš Šutaj Eštok, for a meeting as soon as possible. while proposing the meeting date for Tuesday, January 21. The leader of the Voice said that he is looking forward to the party’s weekend congress (January 24-25), “which will be a great opportunity to sit down in peace and openly clarify opinions”.

Deputies Samuel Migaľ, Ján Ferenčák, Roman Malatinec and Radomír Šalitroš complained in the call about the lack of interest of the party chairman in the discussion, as well as the trend of bringing the Voice closer to the Smer-SD party. They are therefore asking for an expedited negotiation. “Our goal is for the situation to stabilize no later than the beginning of the next regular meeting of the National Council of the Slovak Republic, which will begin on February 4,” they stated. They also talk about the last chance to prevent early elections.

In response, the chairman of Hlas pointed out that it is at the party congress that each of the party members will have an ideal space to express their opinion. He emphasized that the social democratic values of Hlas, also anchored in the plans for 2025, are aimed at improving the lives of all generations of Slovaks. “This is what we promised the people when we were founded, and it is time to guarantee them unity, peace and stability, which are essential in difficult times.” Šutaj Eštok added.
