The Faro Territorial Command of the GNR, through the Tavira Territorial Post, arrested a 56-year-old man on Saturday for domestic violence against his partner, in the municipality of Tavira.
After a report of domestic violence in a residence, the Guard soldiers immediately went to the location, where they discovered that the man had physically attacked the victim, his 50-year-old partner, culminating in his arrest.
The detainee remained at the GNR facilities and was present this Tuesday at the Judicial Court of Faro, where the coercive measure of preventive detention was applied to him.
The GNR recalls that “domestic violence is a public crime and reporting it is a collective responsibility”.
