the streaming service, announced this Tuesday the hiring of Galvão Bueno to narrate the Copa do Brasil and Campeonato Brasileiro games whose broadcasting rights belong to the platform (). The contract with the experienced narrator will be valid for three years.
“I am very happy to close this partnership because I know the potential that a company the size of Amazon has and what it can do for sports broadcasting in Brazil. When I decided that I would leave Globo, I was sure that it would be to do something big, and I feel that here we can build a lot together”, says Galvão Bueno, 74 years old.
The broadcasting rights for the Copa do Brasil have been in the hands of Amazon since 2022 and will remain that way until 2026. Over the past year, the American company reached an agreement with the Liga Forte União (LFU) to broadcast the games of the teams that are part of the group in the Brasileirão until the 2029 season. In accordance with the agreed terms, Prime Video will have an exclusive game from a home team belonging to the LFU group per round.

Galvão left Globo broadcasts after the end of the 2022 World Cup. Since then, he has focused on his own YouTube channel and maintained a contract with the broadcaster until the end of 2024, but only participated in sporadic events, such as the reality show Voice Crack. He was also part of the presentation of the opening ceremony of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
