JPMorgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon has revealed that his relationship with tech billionaire Elon Musk has undergone a positive transformation. “Elon and I have reconciled,” Dimon said in an interview with CNBCduring the World Economic Forum, in Davos, Switzerland.
“Elon and I have reconciled,” Dimon said. “He came to one of our conferences, [e] he and I had a nice, long conversation. We resolved some of our differences.”
Dimon also praised Musk’s various companies, including Tesla, SpaceX and Neuralink, describing him as “our Einstein.” The JPMorgan CEO expressed his desire to support Musk and his initiatives, emphasizing the importance of collaborating with innovative leaders in the technology sector.
The reconciliation comes at a time when JPMorgan has decided to drop a lawsuit against Tesla that had been filed in 2021. The lawsuit sought to recover $162.2 million in a dispute related to warrants of shares. The conflict arose after Musk made statements about the privatization of Tesla in 2018, which led to adjustments in the value of warrants by JPMorgan.
Musk plays a significant role in newly inaugurated President Donald Trump’s administration, leading the Department of Government Efficiency. Dimon expressed his support for this new initiative, stating that the government needs to be more responsible and efficient, focusing on results.
