French star Kylian Mbappé avoided creating a controversy with Neymar by responding to the criticism that the Brazilian star made about the reasons why, in his view, the MNM trio at Paris Saint-Germain, formed by Mbappé, Neymar and Messi, did not work.
In an interview with former player Romário, who launched a YouTube channel, Neymar indicated that he got along well with Mbappé until Messi arrived. After that, the Frenchman would have been “jealous”, said the Al Hilal and Brazilian national team player.
Commenting on the statement, Mbappé said he has a lot of respect for Neymar, defined him as “a unique player” and stated that he intends to “remember the positive”.
“Now, I’m in Madrid [no Real Madrid]I want to enjoy it. And luck for Neymar, his family and friends”, said the Frenchman to the TNT Sports channel.
In the interview with Romário, Neymar also commented that what prevented PSG from winning more relevant titles with their powerful attack was precisely the ego of the athletes.
“Ego is good, but you have to know that you don’t play alone. You have to have the other guy on your side. Ego belonged to almost everyone. There’s no way it can work. If no one runs and no one helps each other, it’s impossible to win something,” he said.
