White smoke on the border between Porto and Gondomar. The two municipalities finally reached an agreement on border territories.
Porto and Gondomar have just woken up border changes.
According to (JN), the Porto conquers 211,481 square meters of territory, where 68 houses and 15 commercial and service spaces.
In turn, Gondomar now comprises 137,917 square meters, with 67 houses and one establishment.
According to the morning newspaper, this is the solution to a problem that began to be resolved in 2018. The proposal to change the Official Administrative Charter of Portugal will be a topic at the meeting of the Executive of the Porto Chamber next Monday; and which will later be submitted to the Municipal Assembly.
In the documents, details the JN, it is read that the lands covered by the agreement are: area north of Estrada da Circumvalation; Black Pêgo; Sands; zona a sul of the Sands; area south of Rua Eight de Setembro; the south area Granja (EN208); Quinta Villar de Allen; and, finally, and the adjacent portion, next to the EN108.
The agreement included the approval of the parish councils and unions covered: Campaignon the Porto side; and, by Gondomar, Saint Cosmas, Valbom and Jovim, Fânzeres and São Pedro da Covae Rio Tinto.
“Although the establishment of administrative limits is the exclusive responsibility of the Assembly of the Republic, in relation to the updating of administrative limits represented in the Official Administrative Charter of Portugal (CAOP), the General Directorate of the Territory considered that it should be the local authorities, if so understand, to promote and trigger work aimed at defining the administrative limits to be updated in the CAOP, called Administrative Delimitation Procedures”, explains the proposal cited by JN.
