Director of Louvre proposes admission to visit Mona Lisa

Museum intends to create separate entry to Mona Lisa and rearranging the flow of visitors by 2031

Louvre’s director, Laurence des Cars, proposed the creation of a separate ticket to visit “Here Lisa”distinct from the general entry of the museum. The initiative was released in an interview with the radio . The goal is to control the flow of visitors and rearrange the work of observation of the work.

“The idea is to have a Louvre ticket that gives access to permanent collections and exhibitions. And if you want to see Mona Lisa, this ticket will be needed plus specific access to the work ”declared de cars.

The director said she discussed concerns about the museum’s structure at a meeting with the Minister of Culture, Rachida Dati, held in January. On January 28, French President Emmanuel Macron announced a Louvre renewal project, scheduled for 2031.

According to Macron, the works will include new spaces and an independent entry for the “Here Lisa”.

“A new exclusive space will be created for ‘Mona Lisa’, accessible autonomously, with a specific ticket”declared the president.
