This is the full note:
“The Sport Club do Recife deeply regrets the acts of violence in Recife last Saturday, before the match against Santa Cruz.
“The club, however, vehemently disagrees with the“ solution ”presented by the state government, which prohibits the presence of Sport fans in the next five games on Retiro Island.
“The measure taken only penalizes true fans, while those responsible for criminal acts are still unpunished, as well as harming a football chain, where so many families depend on games to have their family income, growing even more social vulnerability.
“Sport reiterates that it has no responsibility for public safety on the streets or the planning of security forces. Even with the police presence, the criminals managed to face each other and turn the streets of Recife into a war scenario, highlighting failures in the planning of the authorities.
“The club will not accept this decision, which considers ineffective, and will take all appropriate measures to guarantee their rights, including using the Judiciary, always in defense of their fans and their community.
“Recife’s Sport Club reaffirms its commitment to the safety and well-being of fans and will continue working to provide a safe and welcoming environment for everyone.”
