United States President Donald Trump confirmed the adoption of tariffs across the country about products imported from Mexico, Canada and China. Trump’s signature of the rate of imposition of tariffs was announced by the White House recently. The imposition of tariffs was made through an international economic emergency statement, according to Trump.
In a publication on the Truth Social network, Trump detailed that the country will tax the imported products of Mexico by 25%. Products imported from Canada will also be taxed at 25%, except for oil that will be subject to a 10%rate. On products imported from China, the United States will apply an additional 10%rate.
The US President claimed “great threat” of illegal foreigners and drugs in the country’s territory, including Fentanil. “We need to protect Americans, and it’s my duty as president to ensure everyone’s security. I made a promise in my campaign from preventing the flood of illegal foreigners and drugs from crossing our borders, and the Americans voted overwhelmingly in favor, ”he said.
