A driver ran over a crowd that participated in a union demonstration and injured 28 people in the city center of Munich, Germany. According to local authorities, the running over is being investigated as an attack and the suspect an Afghan citizen who expected a decision on asylum request was arrested.
Participants walked down a street in downtown Munich around 10:30 am (6:30 am, Brasília) when a car surpassed a police vehicle that followed the concentration, accelerated and ran over dozens of people.
Police arrested the suspect after shooting the car, police deputy chief Christian Huber said at a news conference. The officer added that there are people who are in serious condition among the injured.
