Intense rains leave more than 150 regions in a state of emergency in Peru

The Peruvian government declared on Wednesday (19) that 157 districts in the country would be placed in a state of emergency for 60 days after heavy rains caused flooding and the collapse of houses throughout the territory.

Among the regions in a state of emergency, which came into force on Thursday (20), are the capital, Lima, and the southern region of ICA.

The rains. In Ica, police officers rescued a woman who was trapped in a flooded river.

Another river overflowed in the southern city of Nazca, causing serious damage to houses and plantations nearby and blocking roads.
