The Russian president today described his US counterpart’s proposal, Donald Trump, a 50% reduction in US, Russia and China military spending.
“We could make an agreement with the US: the United States to reduce them (their military spending) by 50% and we themselves. China could be involved next if it wished. We consider it to be a good proposal and we are open to discussions on this issue. “Putin said in a television interview.
Concerning Ukraine, the strong Kremlin man said he was not opposed to Europe’s involvement in talks between Russia and the US to end the war, recalling that Brussels had previously refused to participate in a dialogue with Moscow.
Putin also stressed that US President Donald Trump is approaching the Russian-Ukraine conflict rationally and not emotionally.
Turning his arrows at Ukraine President Volodimir Zelenski, Putin said he was a “toxic” leader who gave “ridiculous orders” and responsible for the “disintegration of the army, society and the state”.
