On the flower bed and in the box
Libor can be grown as a perennial by placing it in a box or other portable containers. From the winter frosts we hide it in a bright place and at the end of May the go with her again. This beauty is not frost -resistant, but colder temperatures can withstand. Libora tends to shape into chimneys in portable containers. The second option is to plant it in the ground, the flower bed. But we have to pacify it in the autumn.
Beauty alternates the splendor
The plant is beautiful to breathtaking. During the period when it blooms around its green leaves, beautiful, rich flowers consisting of many smaller flowers playing with different colors. There are salmon, pink, red or orange.
It blooms all summer, or from June to September. And during the summer, it regularly attracts bees, butterflies and other insects, such as moths, with nectar of its rich flowers. In the autumn it is reasonable to cut it a little.
Let’s look for Libora in Central and South America. Up to 150 different types are currently counted. It grows to a height of even one meter. And most importantly – maintenance is absolutely undemanding. You do not have to run around it all summer, it is enough for a rich and regular watering, otherwise you will bloom weakly. If you want to reproduce it, do so in the spring either with herbal or top cuttings.
Beware of children and cattle, Libora is poisonous
We praised Libor to heaven, but let’s also tell the truth about the other side of the coin. Some species, and directly Libor, are toxic. It is sometimes taken away by children who dream of leaves or cattle – cows and goats that will eat it. The consequences may be nasty and can lead to kidney failure.
