Putin may answer questions about the ceasefire in Ukraine on a press conference with Lukashenko on Thursday if journalists ask him.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that Russian President Vladimir Putin may be talking about a ceasefire in Ukraine on Thursday if journalists ask him at a press conference. According to the DPA report, TASR reports this.

Peskov said that the head of the Kremlin has a planned joint press conference with Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko, who will meet Putin on Thursday in Moscow.

“Everything will depend on what journalists ask,” said the Kremlin spokesman for the Russian TASS agency in response to the question whether Putin will comment on matters outside Russian-white bilateral relations, such as Ukraine.

On Tuesday, Ukraine supported the proposal of the United States for a 30-day ceasefire with Russia on Tuesday at negotiations with US officials in Saudi Jidda. At the same time, the US agreed to abolish the restrictions for military assistance and the exchange of news information with Ukraine.

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said after the meeting that the ball is now on the side of Russia.

Peskov said on Wednesday that Moscow would not react to the ceasefire proposal only after the US provides details.

US diplomacy chief Rubio and US President’s advisor Mike Waltz promised to provide Russia with all the information about US-Ukrainian negotiations in Jidda.

United States President Donald Trump said on Wednesday that the US delegation on his way to Moscow. The White House later announced that the special envoy for the Middle East Steve Witkoff will be visited by Russia a few days.

Trump also said he was likely to talk to Putin this week. The spokeswoman of the Russian Foreign Ministry Marija Zacharova confirmed that such communication between the powers is possible in the near future.
