London Airport Heathrow renews full operation after the fireplace fire, which caused chaos in traveling and influenced thousands of passengers.

London Heathrow Airport returns to full operation on Saturday. The busiest European airport was paralyzed by a fire of electricity plant the previous day, which, according to Reuters, caused worldwide chaos in traveling.

Some flights resumed on Friday night

Some flights have been renewed on Friday night, but the closure of one of the busiest airports in the world for most of the day has caused tens of thousands of people to look for scarce hotel rooms and alternative transport options.

The airport spokesman announced in a statement that there are teams working at the airport to help passengers affected by failures. “We have hundreds of other colleagues in our terminals and we have added flights to today’s flight order,” he said.

A fire that paralyzed the airport operation broke out on Friday night in a Hayes substation about 2.5 kilometers from the airport. Its cause is investigated, but the authorities have preliminarily excluded foreign fault.

In addition to the airport, approximately 100,000 households in its surroundings were left without electricity. However, the British transmission system operator reported on Saturday morning that electricity supply was resumed to all customers.

According to Flightradar, 24 fire has affected at least 1350 flights directly at Heathrow Airport. Approximately 120 aircraft had to land unplanned at other airports in Britain, Ireland or France. London Airports Stansted and Gatwick worked normally.
