Equality will tender the contract of the antimaltrate bracelets “to include improvements”
The Minister of Equality, Ana Redondo, has assured that the contract to manage the antimaltrate bracelets will tend to tend “in a few months” to include “technical improvements”, although she has insisted that this protection system “works”, the “judges are increasingly trusted on it” and “no woman has been murdered” when one of these devices was assigned.
The minister has admitted in an interview in La Sexta that there have been incidents and “dysfunctions”, but it cannot say what the magnitude of the problem is, how many victims could affect the change of the company awarded the service for a few months of 2024 of 2024, he says that there have been “numerous” acquittals and provisional dismissals in judicial proceedings for breach of conviction. In those cases, the historical record of the bracelets was temporarily lost, and with it, a test of the potential broken.
Redondo has ruled out that it has been considered resigning for this controversy: “No, because we have done an excellent job.” And he has insisted that the bracelets “have worked and work absolutely and correctly” and that women “never have been at risk.”
“The bracelets work, the comet device has always worked and continues to work properly, save lives daily, is in immediate connection with the state security forces and bodies, we do a great work saving lives daily,” said Redondo, in a video clommunication in which he has sent a reassuring message to the victims.
