At least 12 people died in the Sunday accident pick-up that collapsed into the gorge in the north of Mexico. Another four people suffered injuries. After an accident, a forest fire broke out at the site, but soon managed to quench. TASR informs this based on the AFP report.
The accident occurred in the mountainous area in Nuevo León. Eleven people died on the spot and one other minor succumbed to injuries after being transferred to the hospital. Four other people were hospitalized with injuries suffered after a fall of a 120-meter height.
According to local authorities, the accident was probably caused by the so -called. mechanical disorder. There were no traces on the road to indicate that the vehicle was inhibited. The fall of the pick-up on the spot was caused by a forest fire that was later extinguished.
The number of traffic accidents in Mexico has increased in recent years. Usually these are trucks accidents, the main causes of which are poor vehicle condition, reckless driving or driver fatigue.
