The Constitutional Court in Seoul unanimously confirmed the dismissal of President Jun Sok-Jola, provoked protests by his supporters and the party celebrations.
Tens of thousands of sympathizers and opponents of the dismissed President Jun Sok-Jola on Friday gathered in Seoul during the decision of the Constitutional Court on his dismissal (Impeachemente) from office. According to Jonhap, the opponents of Juna were clear after the judgment. “The people won,” said a group of junk opponents organized by the Assembly. Some participants picked up a large Korean flag and waved with the inscriptions “Refer to Jun Sok-Jola”.
Divided public reactions
Fans Juna gathered in front of the President’s headquarters shouted in disbelief “Stop deceiving”. After reading the unanimous verdict of the court, many responded outraged and some of them threw banners on the ground with the inscription “Impeachment is invalid”.
One of the angry supporters subsequently broke the window on the police bus at the Anguk station near the Constitutional Court building. He wore a helmet and a gas mask. The police said he would be charged with the destruction of public property against him.
However, there was no serious security incident. The police announced in advance that it would significantly strengthen security measures in the capital and in the vicinity of the court and deploy all available capacities.
