Washington (Reuters)-US President Donald Trump said on Monday that the United States “controlling and possessing” the Gaza Strip would be a good thing, once again presenting a proposal he made several times during the first weeks of his government.

“Having a strength like the United States there, controlling and having the Gaza Strip would be a good thing,” Trump told reporters in the White House after meeting Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
