Former President Biden accused Trump’s administration of the destruction of the social system and warned against the devastating consequences for pensioners.
Former US President Joe Biden, after leaving the White House on Wednesday night, criticized his successor Donald Trump and accused him of endangering US citizens’ pensions. TASR took information from AFP.
“In less than 100 days, this administration has done so much damage and so much destruction – until it breaths that it could have happened so soon,” Biden said at a conference of disabled people (ACRD) in Chicago.
In a blue suit and tie, standing in front of the American flags, the 82-year-old ex-president said about half an hour. Biden chose the topic of social security, which, according to AFP, tried to increase the pressure on Trump in connection with his efforts for a widespread revision of government spending.
The ex -president pointed out a reduction in the number of federal employees and pointed out that “the social security website is collapsing” and pensioners are unable to reach their benefits.
Many Americans “literally rely on social security to buy food,” Biden said. “For many of them, this is their only income. If it was reduced or canceled, it would be devastating for millions of people,” he pointed out.
Biden originally planned to re -run against Trump. However, he gave up the candidacy after a poor performance in the first presidential debate. Instead of Biden, his vice president Kamala Harris, who couldn’t beat Trump, ran.
CNN TV points out that Biden has significantly reduced public appearances from Trump’s inauguration. He spends most of his time in his house in Delaware, meets his loved ones and returns to his office in Washington about once a week.
