The president and the first lady had visited the religious 10 days ago in São Paulo
The President (PT) and the First Lady Janja da Silva regretted this Thursday (15.br.2025) the death of Bishop Emeritus of Blumenau 92 years. The religious celebrated the in May 2022.
“I received with deep sadness the news of the death of dear Dom Angelico, who dedicated his life to solidarity and love to neighbor, as Jesus Christ taught us. From the workers’ strikes in the 70’s and 80’s, going through historical moments of the struggle for redemocratization and social justice in our country, we were always together on the side of truth and the common good.”said a note of regret of the plateau signed by Lula.
The petista also stated that he keeps memories of the “Great friend” and cited familiar moments in which the bishop was present, such as the baptism of his grandchildren, marriage of his children and his own [casamento].
“Rest in peace, companion. My solidarity with all the faithful who accompanied their trajectory”he wrote.
The first lady preferred to publish her condolences to her Instagram account. With a photo of his marriage in which the religious appears celebrating the ceremony, Janja wrote that he was a great human rights advocate and dedicated his life to solidarity.
“I had the opportunity, with President Lula, visiting Dom Angelico last week, in an affectionate and remembrance meeting, such as the beautiful day he celebrated our marriage. May it be a passage of great light, my friend! A fraternal hug to the family and all admirers of Don Angelico”these.
