Abram Neto, CEO of Amcham Brazil, stressed the capital insights that the function of the world’s largest American Chamber of Commerce is to strengthen the economic and commercial bond between the United States and Brazil, aiming above all a medium/long term strategy.
But in a moment of commercial tension motivated by US President Donald Trump’s fares, AMcham has been mobilized by the business sector with authorities on both sides.
Neto points out that there is a transparent dialogue between the parties, and that his perception is that “there is a lot of willingness, in our understanding, both on the American side and on the Brazilian side in listening and receiving the feeling of the business sector.”
“On the Brazilian side, since the election in the United States, AMcham has been doing a very positive dialogue to reinforce our understanding that an approximation with the new US government is important,” he said.
“It is important to recognize that the Brazilian government has had a balanced stance, it has been pragmatic,” he said.
Neto reported that Amcham was recently in Washington with Trump administration officials.
