Amnesty reports on 88 executions in Saudi Arabia this year

Dubai-Amnesty International has criticized an “alarming increase” of executions in Saudi Arabia. At least 88 people have been executed there since January, the human rights organization said on Thursday. 52 of the death candidates had therefore been sentenced to death for drug offenses. Saudi Arabia clearly violates international law and provisions that limited the imposition of the death penalty to “most serious crimes”.
