Senator Flávio Bolsonaro (PL-RJ) asked the Federal Supreme Court (STF) that minister Alexandre de Moraes be declared a suspect to analyze an application related to the Dark Horse case, a film inspired by the political trajectory of former president Jair Bolsonaro.
The request was presented after deputy Lindbergh Farias (PT-RJ) asked for the expansion of an existing investigation to include Flávio Bolsonaro and Jair Bolsonaro in investigations into the financing of audiovisual production.
The senator’s defense argues that any procedure involving Daniel Vorcaro, Banco Master and the film should be under the supervision of minister André Mendonça, who is already conducting investigations related to the financial institution.
Moraes’ impartiality
In the request sent to the STF, Flávio’s lawyers state that Moraes would not have the necessary impartiality to act in cases linked to Banco Master.
The petition cites the hiring of the firm of lawyer Viviane Barci, the minister’s wife, by the financial institution. The defense also mentions messages attributed to Moraes found on Daniel Vorcaro’s cell phone during the investigations.
According to lawyers, these elements would justify the redistribution of the case.
Continues after advertising
“There is a contractual relationship established between Banco Master and the office of the wife of the Honorable Minister Alexandre de Moraes, a fact that establishes proximity between His Excellency, Banco Master and Daniel Vorcaro”, states the defense.
Request involves financing the film
The request presented by Lindbergh Farias seeks to further investigate possible irregularities in the origin of the resources used to produce the Dark Horse film.
The parliamentarian maintains that there are elements that justify the inclusion of Flávio Bolsonaro and Jair Bolsonaro in the investigation.
With the defense’s statement, the Supreme Court will have to decide whether the case remains under analysis by Alexandre de Moraes or whether it should be forwarded to André Mendonça’s office.
