The mayor of Sena Madureira, Gerlen Diniz (PP), became a target of criticism on Thursday (24), after being revealed that he has spent nearly $ 2 million in the purchase of fuel at Auto Posto Rosellão, from his political ally.
According to data from the Municipality’s Transparency Portal, the city has already paid R $ 1,965,571.27 in fuels in just four months.

In February of this year, the mayor had already been criticized for signing the emergency contract- with exemption from bidding- with Auto Posto Rosellão budgeted at more than $ 11 million. At the time, in an interview with a radio station, Gerlen clarified the facts and defended the legality of the process.
“There was a publication of the notice, calling companies interested in selling to the City of Sena Madureira. It was an emergency hiring because we needed to buy fuel to keep the vehicles in operation,” he said.

Councilman Carlos Baliza, in an interview with Contilnet, recalled that while the city spends the exorbitant value on fuels, services such as transportation of patients who are treatment in the capital and maintenance of extensions are suspended. The parliamentarian also cites an even more serious problem: the lack of medicines in the health units of the municipality.
“The Municipal Pharmacy has no captopril, metformin, which is the medication for those who have diabetes and simple and basic medicines such as dipyrone, which has not been since the beginning of the year. We are already completing four months of management and has not yet purchased anything from medicines.”

The parliamentarian also pointed out that in addition to the purchase of fuels with waiver of bidding, the city would also have made the purchase of lubricants in the same modality.
In addition, the issue generated other questions about public resources management, including the fact that the City Hall of Sena Madureira made the millionaire purchase of fuels in a winter period, when machines and heavy vehicles are not being used daily in the municipal extensions.
Internet users also questioned the lack of editions of traveling health programs, which travels hundreds of kilometers through the municipality, which could justify the expense with fuels.
