The national president of the PSDB and pre-candidate for vice president of the Republic, stated this Wednesday (1st.Jul.2026) that the party will respect the electoral strategies adopted by its allies in the States and denied that there were differences regarding the pre-campaign of (União Brasil).
According to Kassab, the involvement of governors with Caiado’s campaign will depend on the political circumstances of each state: “Some may be more involved, others less. There is no crisis”.
As an example, Kassab cited the pre-candidacy of (PSD) to the government of Rio de Janeiro. According to him, the party will set up a committee to support Caiado’s presidential candidacy in the state, but will respect Paes’ political strategy.
“Brazil needs Eduardo Paes to be elected governor. Rio de Janeiro is in a very serious situation. We will have a Caiado Presidente committee in the state, with the name of Eduardo Paes for governor, but we understand that he needs to build his own campaign”he stated.
Kassab also mentioned the dispute in São Paulo and said that the PSD will maintain support for the governor’s re-election attempt (Republicans), despite the head of the São Paulo Executive supporting the senator’s presidential pre-candidacy (PL-RJ), and not Caiado.
According to the leader, the party has already carried out more than 15 agendas in the State with the message “Whitewashed for president and Tarcísio for governor”.
“We know that Tarcísio’s candidate is Flávio Bolsonaro, not Caiado. This is no different from what happens in other states. We understand these circumstances and there is no crisis”said the president of the PSD.
In Pernambuco, Kassab stated that the situation will be similar. According to him, the PSD will also respect the governor’s electoral strategy (PSD), who will run for re-election.
“We will have our Caiado President committee and Raquel’s name will be present. We understand that she has her political circumstances and this does not represent any problem for the party”he declared.
Kassab stated that the PSD maintains a harmonious relationship between its leaders and said that the different positions adopted in the States arise from local realities, and not from political opportunism.
