Virginia Giuffre, who claimed to have been abused by Prince Andrew of Britain when she was a teenager, died, her family said. She was 41 years old.
Police confirmed that emergency services found an unconscious woman at their home near Perth, Western Australia, on Friday night (25).
She was declared dead after first aid did not work.
Her death is not being treated as a suspicion, police said.
Giuffre, mother of three, was one of the most prominent accusers of the rich sexual criminal Jeffrey Epstein.
In 2019, she publicly claimed that Epstein traced her and forced her to have sex with her friends, including Prince Andrew when she was 17.
She also claimed that the prince knew she was a minor in the US at the time.
Prince Andrew repeatedly denied the allegations.
“It is with a heart deeply party that we announce that Virginia died last night on her farm in Western Australia,” says a family statement.
“She lost her life for suicide, after being a victim of sexual abuse and sexual trafficking for a lifetime.”
“Virginia was a fierce warrior in the fight against sexual abuse and sexual trafficking. She was the light that illuminated so many survivors.”
“In the end, the cost of abuse is so heavy that it has become unbearable for Virginia to deal with its weight.”
