First Brazilian NBA champion, Tiago Splitter won his first title as Paris Basketball coach this weekend. The capital team became the French Cup champion by defeating Le Mans 91 to 80, on Saturday night (26) at Accord Arena in Paris.
The trophy is also unprecedented for the young team, founded in 2018, which now has three titles in seven years of history. Tiago Splitter arrived in Paris in July 2024 and was not long before it became a sensation in the elite of European basketball and raise the French team to higher posts. With him in charge, Paris is third in the National League and has advanced to the Euroliga playoff phase, the Continental Basketball Championship.
As a player, besides being champion of the NBA in 2014 with San Antonio Spurs, Splitter also made a career in Europe, winning three Spanish titles.
Tiago Splitter and Paris will not have much time to rest and celebrate the first title. This is because, on Tuesday (29), they have another decisive game in the season: they face Türkiye’s Fenerbahçe for the quarterfinals of the Euríga.
After losing the first two matches, from the five series, Paris must win the next to force the fourth confrontation.
The game will be at Adidas Arena in Paris.
