Trump believes that Zelenski is willing to give Crimea to Putin

The American president, Donald Trump, said Sunday that he believes that the Ukrainian president, Volodimir Zelenski, is willing to give Crime to Russia and that he is “very disappointed” with the position of the Kremlin in the negotiations to put an end to the conflict.

On board the Air Force 1 that displaced him from his golf course in New Jersey to Washington, Trump revealed that he spoke briefly with the Ukrainian about Crimea and believes that Zelenski is ready to give up the Peninsula invaded by Russia in 2014 and later annexed, since it is something that “passed 12 years ago.”

“That was (guilt) of President Obama. They delivered it without having to shoot. So they don’t talk to me about Crimea. They talk about Crimena with (Barack) Obama and (Joe) Biden,” Trump said in reference to the conversation he had with the Ukrainian President on Saturday at the Vatican during the funeral of Pope Francis.

A ZELENSKI “calmer”

According to Trump, who met in the middle of San Pedro with Zelenski, the Ukrainian told him that he has been asking for more armament for three years to deal with Russia and considered that the meeting was very good and that in the next few days progress can be shown in the three -band negotiations to reach a high fire in Ukraine with Russia.

“I see it (to Zelenski) calmer. I think I understand the photo and I think he wants an agreement to be reached,” said the president in a message that contrasts with past statements on which he held the Ukrainian president responsible for wanting to continue prolonging the conflict and not wanting to reach peace.

On the contrary Trump said that “Russia has surprised me and disappointed, I am very disappointed by the bombings of those places (in Ukraine) after negotiations.” This Friday, Trump’s envoy, Steve Witkoff, visited Moscow to get a commitment that allows a high fire between Russia and Ukraine, while the Russian army bombing Ukraine and Trump urged Putin to stop attacks immediately.

Lavrov and Rubio address “the Ukrainian crisis”

The Russian government has reported that the Foreign Minister, Sergéi Lavrov, has maintained a telephone call with the United States Foreign Secretary, Marco Rubio, in which they have addressed “the Ukrainian crisis” as “main theme”, and have agreed to continue the contacts “at all levels.”

“The fruitful exchange of opinions on key aspects of Russian-American political dialogue continued, which has been significantly intensified in recent times,” says a statement published by the Russian Foreign Ministry on its Telegram channel.

Lavrov and Rubio have “highlighted the importance of consolidating the new conditions to initiate negotiations in order to agree on a long -term sustainable peace”, after the meeting that the Russian president, Vladimir Putin, and the special envoy of the White House, Steve Witkoff, on Friday.
