The singer Anitta is involved in a court dispute against the FQM group, manufacturer of the dewormer “Annita”, for the right of use of the brand.
According to BRAZILIAN MAILthe artist seeks to prevent FQM, the intellectual owner of the brand “Annita” in her segment, expand her rights and throw a line of cosmetics with the same name. According to the newspaper, the singer is concerned about the possible improper association of these products in her image.
The report found, in the system of the National Institute of Industrial Property (INPI), that the FQM holds the request process with the oldest priority date, registered on April 29, 2004. The status of the “Annita” brand registration is “in force”, indicating that the use of the brand is within the validity period established by INPI.
Another company that also has permission for the use of the brand is Rodamoinho Producer of Events Ltda., Known as Group Rodamoinho, founded by Larissa de Macedo Machado, singer Anitta. The group holds the second oldest process, dated December 13, 2013. In total, Rodamoinho has eight processes recorded as “in force brand registration”.
A third company, MB Investimentos Ltda., It also has an active record of the brand “Anitta”. The process began in September 2021.

The existence of active records for the use of the name “Anitta” by three different companies can be explained by the legislation itself. According to the standards, the same name can be patented by two or more holders, provided that the segments of acting of each one are distinct, avoiding confusion for the consumer. Only high-name brands, such as Coca-Cola or Nike, have exclusive protection that prevents this possibility.
Until the moment of publication of the report, the advisors of singer Anitta and the pharmacist FQM had not spoken out about the case.
