Santos striker Neymar and his father, Neymar da Silva Santos, had denied by the court of the municipality of São Paulo two requests to prevent the output of an investigative podcast that narrates the player’s trajectory, produced by UOL.

“There is no legal basis for the claim deducted in the initial petition, consistent with obtaining access to content before its disclosure, either for simple analysis, much less for approval, even if the life and business of the interested parties is its object, under penalty of being characterized by the prior censorship, banned from our legal system since the promulgation of the Federal Constitution of 1988”, records the magistrate in an excerpt.
In the decision, Judge Eduardo Hipolito Haddad points out that “fame brings in itself bonuses and burden.” Haddad also states that “there is no violation of rights for the use of the name or history of public and notorious person.”
In a statement, the player’s advisory says that neither company NR Sports, Neymar or his father tried to censor the portal and that the action was proposed to have prior access to documents, emails and personal conversations unpublished only to “preserve rights of third parties, contracts, ongoing processes and, above all, the intimacy of protagonists.”
