Rio de Janeiro – Artificial Intelligence (AI) advances and the maturity of technology increasingly points to the development of more sustainable and inclusive business models and business models. On the third day of Web Summit Rio 2025This trend was the focus of debates between startups, large technology companies and non -profit organizations. And Brazil is an important stage of investments on AI platforms.
While expecting to invest R $ 14.7 billion in AI infrastructure in the Brazilian market, the Microsoft It seeks to use qualifying your workforce to operate with the new technology. According to the company’s president in Brazil, Priscyla Laham, in less than a year Microsoft’s Conectai Program has already trained 2.4 million Brazilians in the use of artificial intelligence. The goal is to reach 5 million people.
“Training of the workforce is still a barrier for most companies to adopt AI solutions, a fundamental technology for economic development with more sustainability and inclusion,” said Priscyla.
Ia and the future of food
Sustainable models also boost business among the startups present to the Web Summit Rio 2025, such as Chilean NotCocompany that uses artificial intelligence algorithms to create healthy foods, with low environmental impact. Through its own AI platform, Giuseppe, the notco simulates textures, flavors and aromas of food, anticipating the result of chemical interactions between ingredients. Thus, using pineapple and cabbage, for example, it was possible to produce milk of plant origin, with the same taste and smell of traditional product.
Today, the company’s products are present in Chile, Brazil, Argentina, Colombia, Mexico, Canada and the United States. “The future of food will be determined by artificial intelligence,” said Mathias Muchnick, founder of Noteco, on the main stage of web Summit Rio. “They laughed at us when we say that, but the market understood that AI technology allows you to develop better, faster and less cost sustainable foods.”
Inclusion on the space border
The concern with inclusion also comes to space. Making space exploration more accessible and inclusive is one of the goals of Deep Space Initiative, a non -profit organization founded by Egyptian astronaut Sara Sabry. The initiative promotes collaboration between scientists, engineers, lawyers and designers to face the challenges of space exploration, proving that borders can be overcome and more countries have a voice in defining the future of exploitation beyond the earth.
According to Sara, the expansion of commercial missions to space opens a new boundary of gender and ethnicity inclusion. “I was the first Arab woman going to space and that would be unthinkable five years ago,” he noted. The use of technology, in turn can make more missions enable. “Artificial intelligence has already been used and will surely cheapen the space missions,” replied Sara, to Infomoney. “We are already using these tools to perform tasks that took two months in two days.”

Personal data will become active
Still on the third day of the Web Summit Rio 2025, Dataprev, a public company of IT, announced a partnership with Drumwave, a company that specializes in data property technology. The goal is to allow the management of individual data property, transforming information into users’ assets.
The project includes the creation of an individual data savings account, which will allow users to receive values by authorizing the sale of personal data. “Today, when data is sold to financial institutions or technology companies, owners get nothing for it,” said Britney Kaiser, Drumwave adviser and president of Own Your Own Data Foundation. “In this model, information owners will receive 50% of the amount collected.”
The data will only be made available with the authorization of users, who can withdraw their information from the market at any time. In addition, the offer of data will be anonymous, preventing individual identification of owners. “The resources will receive income and can be used freely, including the possibility of application in investments focused on technological solutions of artificial intelligence,” said Dataprev President Rodrigo Assumpção. “This will promote digital and financial inclusion on a large scale.”
