This Sunday, Iran accused the United States of once again violating the memorandum of understanding signed between both countries to end the war, following new US bombings against facilities on the southern Iranian coast, and reaffirmed its determination to respond militarily to any aggression.

“These savage attacks, which constitute a flagrant violation of section 4 of article 2 of the Charter of the United Nations, as well as an express violation of the first clause of the Memorandum of Understanding for the end of the war, demonstrate that the US regime does not attach the slightest value or credibility to its commitments,” denounced the Iranian Foreign Ministry in a statement.

Condemning the airstrikes launched by the US Army on Saturday night against several monitoring and surveillance facilities located on the country’s southern coast, Iran’s Foreign Ministry maintained that “non-compliance with agreements is part of Washington’s nature.”

Likewise, he recalled the responsibilities of the UN Security Council and the Secretary General of the United Nations, Antonio Guterres, to preserve international peace and security and reiterated that the Islamic Republic will defend “the national sovereignty and territorial integrity of Iran” against “military aggression by the United States”, in accordance with Article 51 of the UN Charter.
